Keep Calm and Visit Northalsted Dental SpaNovember 28, 2016
Dental fear is one of the most common phobias in the United States. As many as 1 in 5 people in the United States avoid the dentist because of dental anxiety.
You may feel anxious about coming to the dentist for any number of reasons, which is why Dr. Michael Griffin designed his dentist office in Chicago to be as welcoming as possible to anyone who wants dental care.
Northalsted Dental Spa isn’t like a sterile, dental clinic. Our welcoming staff and relaxing atmosphere can change your idea of what dentistry can be.
If you can’t remember the last time you went to the dentist, then we encourage you to pay us a visit.
Call 773-245-2779 or contact us with our online form to schedule a visit. Then, you can decide if you would like to make an appointment for a cleaning or another of our services.
Talking About Your Dental Anxiety
One of our goals at Northalsted Dental Spa is for every person who walks through our doors to feel accepted, comfortable, and welcome. One aspect of this is good communication with our patients.
Some people are afraid that dental care will hurt. Some people can recall a bad experience that makes them hesitant to return to the dentist. We also know that some people are worried about needles, the drill, or other pieces of dental equipment.
We want to know what bothers you. When we know what causes your dental anxiety, we can work with you to create a dental experience that is easier for you.
You also will want to know that in his more than 17 years of service, Dr. Griffin has made it a point to stay as up-to-date as possible on the latest technology and techniques. In modern dentistry, we have multiple ways to provide dental care.
We are happy to find a solution that helps you feel comfortable throughout your visits with us.

Judgment-Free Dental Care
We know one reason some people avoid the dentist is because of a worry that they will be judged. No matter who you are or how you identify, you can consider our office a safe place to be.
The team at Northalsted Dental Spa wants you to know that we are on your side. When you are in our office, we aren’t going to shame you based on your teeth or any other reason.
We are here to support you in your goal of maintaining or improving the health of your teeth. We want to see you smile, and we know that is more likely when you are surrounded by people who accept you for who you are and where you are in your life.
To find out what a judgement-free dentist office can be like, make an appointment at our office if you live in or near Chicago. We will be happy to have you here.
Easing Your Dental Anxiety With Personal Care
You may have noticed something else about the name of our practice. We aren’t “Northalsted Dentistry” or “Northalsted Dental Clinic.”
We are Northalsted Dental Spa. We want you to feel relaxed, calm, and comfortable the entire time you are in our office. We deliberately used colors that contribute to a sense of relaxation. We also provide aromatherapy candles and scents to go with calming music to create a spa-like atmosphere for our patients.
We recognize that every patient is an individual. What works for one patient can make the next patient want to leave. We want to get to know you, so we can personalize your dental care. We have seen how this can make a big difference in how relaxed our patients are.
We are the opposite of the one-size-fits-all approach to dental care. Instead, we want to find a way to provide you with dental care that works for you and fits your personal needs.
Working With You And For Your Oral Health
Every patient deserves to feel cared for. That’s our philosophy at Northalsted Dental Spa.
We welcome you to visit our dentist office if you live in or near Chicago. We will be happy to talk to you about why you feel dental anxiety. We also will gladly discuss what we can do to help you learn to manage that anxiety.
Dental anxiety probably won’t go away with one visit to our office. Our hope is that with each visit, your dental care will become easier for you. In time, your anxiety may fade away completely.
