There are a number of ways that life can take its toll on your teeth. Decay, trauma, even your diet and habits can cause damage and loss of your teeth. When you damage or lose a tooth, you might worry that you’ll never get your natural, healthy smile back, but we can help restore your teeth with a number of techniques with our Restorative dentistry !
Restorative dentistry is a rapidly evolving field that includes all methods of restoring damaged or lost teeth. We are proud to offer a wide variety of restorative techniques at Northalsted Dental Spa that are sure to have you grinning from ear to ear!
Our Restorative Techniques
Fillings are the backbone of dental restoration and something that a lot of people will get in their lives. In the past, fillings were made from dental amalgam, a blend of metals that are specially formulated for use in your mouth. Modern technology has allowed us to place fillings that are the same color as your teeth – no more ugly gray metal!
Inlays and onlays are used to restore more severely decayed and damaged teeth. Primarily used to restore damage to the chewing surface, inlays and onlays function sort of like “half-crowns” that protect and preserve your natural tooth when it’s too damaged to be fixed by a filling. Our inlays and onlays are made from dental composite – the same material as our tooth-colored fillings. You’ll be smiling wide with your restorations!
Veneers might seem like a purely cosmetic treatment, but you’d be surprised at the great restorative uses they have! When your teeth are chipped, damaged, or simply misshapen, veneers can produce a whole new look for your smile! Better yet, we can make our veneers in-house using our CEREC milling machine – you can come in and leave with a smile you’ll love!
Crowns and bridges are another pair of tried and true restorations that have been used for decades. Crowns are used to protect a damaged or decayed tooth that isn’t healthy enough to be left unprotected. We reduce your tooth in size so that only healthy material is left and then cover it with a crown, which looks just like a natural tooth! With modern technology, we are even able to make your crown while you wait!
A bridge is a false tooth attached to a series of crowns. It is used to replace a completely missing tooth. Crafted in a dental lab, a bridge will not only aesthetically reproduce your missing tooth, but it will also protect your other teeth from shifting due to loss.
Dentures can get your smile back in both partial and full forms! We can craft dentures that look lifelike and work wonderfully, helping you eat the foods you love and smile with ease and confidence. We also offer implant-supported and implant-retained dentures! These innovative dentures are removable but are held securely in place by attaching to a series of dental implants – you’ll be amazed at how easy life is with implant-retained and -supported dentures!
Dental implants are the premier, state-of-the-art method of dental restoration. Using a small titanium screw that is placed in your jaw, we can give you the strongest, longest-lasting, and most realistic tooth replacement possible! Combined with our CEREC milling machine, you can have a crown placed on your healed restoration in just one visit!
Root canals have a bad reputation, but they are an essential part of dental restoration. The myth of the root canal is that it hurts badly, but what people are confused about is that the root canal is what relieves pain! Root canals involve cleaning out infected dental pulp from the inside of a decayed tooth. Infected pulp creates a whole host of painful symptoms that are all alleviated by a root canal! In order to protect your tooth, we’ll finish your root canal with a crown that we can make while you wait!
Restorative dentistry can relieve pain, reproduce your beautiful smile, and help keep the rest of your teeth healthy for years to come. Don’t wait in pain or embarrassment any longer – call our office today at 773-245-2779 or make an appointment using our online form. We look forward to restoring your smile!
